Robert Cuffney is a digital forensic examiner for Reliance Forensics. He is a licensed North Carolina attorney, an EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE®) and Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME). He is also a licensed private investigator in the state of South Carolina.
Before joining Reliance, Robert spent over seven years as a prosecutor in Mecklenburg County (North Carolina’s largest prosecutorial district encompassing the city of Charlotte). As a prosecutor Robert focused on domestic violence related offenses ranging from felony attempted murders to misdemeanor assaults. He has presided over close to two hundred bench trials, and nearly thirty jury trials.
Robert also has a significant background in data analysis – he created and maintained a large SQL case administration database for the District Attorney’s Office. He holds two certifications in SQL programming from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and has completed several courses on VBA programming as well.
Robert received a bachelor’s in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2004. Before, and during, law school Robert worked as a business analyst for a large financial institution in Charlotte. He attended law school in the evenings and earned his J.D. from Charlotte School of Law in 2010.
